phanar-vatican meeting in jerusalem

The Ecumenical Patriarchate has announced, on its website, that the upcoming visit of Pope Francis will be broadcast live (by the Greek national broadcaster NERIT).  It is being haled as “Thronal Feast 2014”.  The meeting will be accompanied by attendance at Roman Catholic and Patriarchal Liturgies, a joint ecumenical doxology, as well as another ‘declaration’.  The Phanar attempt to gather media attention to this upcoming event is probably second only to the earlier “Apostolic Pilgrimage” event earlier this year. The earlier event was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the meeting of the two great heresiarchs, Athenagoras of Constantinople, and the Paul VI of Rome.

The Ecumenical Patriarchate has been noted for its liberal theology and modernist approach, such as on issues of ecumenism, abortion, and other matters.  In this sense, Constantinople shot ahead of Rome’s rapid downward course by 20 years, having to wait for Bergoglio to take over the Vatican before anything else could be achieved (both JPII and Benedict were heretical Papists, and thus outside of the Church, but, they were, in relative terms, on the more conservative side for Novus Ordo Latin Modernism).  Patriarch Bartholomew fits more into line with a Bergoglio than he does with a Polish Messianist or a German academic.

As the Ecumenical Patriarch has noted, the heretical ecumenist celebrations will transpire in two large events every year. The Phanar chieftain and his entourage will make a visit to Rome, and vice versa for whoever occupies the Lateran Palace. The Ecumenical Patriarchate and Moscow Patriarchate already send representatives to Vatican beatification services. All the protestations of the ‘commemorating’ and ‘fighting-from-within’ monasteries on Mt. Athos have had absolutely zero effect on any policy of the Phanar, or of the other Middle Eastern Patriarchates. In fact, the only one of the original large monastic institutions on Mt. Athos that has seriously objected to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Esphigmenou, has been subject to an onslaught of persecution, beatings, attacks, and even murders, perpetuated by the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s police force (which is currently engaged in a siege of the monastery) for its refusal to accede to commemoration of Bartholomew.  How can they accept Bartholomew as the true Patriarch and Orthodox when Bartholomew openly declares heretical Rome to be part of the Church?

The Ecumenist agenda has completely triumphed in a degree never before thought possible by ‘fighting from within’ folks.  Thus,, Antioch and Alexandria have formal intercommunion agreements with heretical Copts and Syro-Jacobites, as well as open communion policies [at least for Antioch] for all ‘baptized Christians’; Jerusalem, which for sometime seemed to lag behind, has henceforth been brought into line; and with the promotion of more and more Novus Ordo Versus Populum type Liturgies, all within the false modernist interpretation of the Liturgy of St. James, even by such noted New Calendarist ‘conservatives’ like Seraphim of Piraeus, the World Orthodox are finally assimilating to the modernist heresy in Liturgy.  Already prominent World Orthodox clergy (like Fr. Robert Arida) are promoting the changing of moral teaching on abortion, homosexuality, etc.

All those ROCOR folks who in the 1990s would have been decrying these things and saying, “This is why we cannot have communion with the Phanar, or with Moscow!” have effectively been silenced and relegated to nothing. They can say things, but, with no effect.

Ecumenism, joint-prayer, joint-services, common declarations, liberal modernism, women’s ordination movments, feminism, pro-abortion teachings  and pro-homosexualism, etc, etc, are all permanently entrenched in the World Patriarchates at the highest levels.  The majority of the lay folks seem to either agree or not care enough to do anything other than say, “Well, as long as I don’t have to do it.”

“Thronal Feast 2014” is not the beginning of anything. It’s just the continuation of everything.
