Soi-disant bishop Gregory Lourie, a notorious heretic

In a move that caught many off-guard, it has recently come to light that Metropolitan Raphael of Moscow (TOC-R) invited deposed heretic monk and soi-disant bishop Gregory Lourie to a conference, where TOC-R bishops apparently agreed to condemn the “heresy” of “Name Fighting.”

For those unaware of the terminology, the heretical Name Worshipers, condemned on numerous occasions by the Orthodox Church for their errant views concerning God’s Name being itself God, try to deflect from their heresy by stating that they are “Name Glorifiers”  (as opposed to Name Worshipers) and that those opposed to their ideas are actually “fighters against the Name” who in opposing Name Worshiping, have gone to some supposedly opposite extreme.

In condemning “Name Fighting,” therefore, it appears that Metropolitan Raphael has either accepted Name Worshiping outright, or been hookwinked into believing the mythology of Lourie and company that there is supposedly some distinction between Name Glorifying and Name Worshiping.
