Yesterday, September 19 (NS) Metropolitan Raphael of Moscow, head of the TOC-R, turned 65. The daily liturgy was celebrated at the central Church of the TOC-R in Moscow, after which greetings were read from the other Primates of the United True Orthodox Churches in their communion.

Metropolitan Onufrie of Bergamo, primate of the Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of Italy sent an email note, writing “Your Beatitude, the occasion of your birthday, the Synod and the whole clergy of Italy wishes you good health, happiness, and Happy New Year!

Metropolitan Anghelos of Avlonos, First-Hierarch of the True Orthodox Church of the Patristic Calendar in Greece, as well as Metropolitan John of New York, head of the Autonomous Metropolia of North and South America and the British Isles, sent letters commemorating the occasion.
