MP Develops Closer Ties with Chinese Communist Church

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, the Sergianist MP has begun to cultivate closer ties with the Chinese Communist ‘Catholic Patriotic’ Association.  Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev), the noted modernist ecumenist, who represents the Sergianist MP in ecumenical discussion, has recently met with Ma Yinglin, the Communist bishop of Kunming, China.

The open and public reason given has been the recognition of MP communities in China.  However, it is no coincidence that this meeting comes after President Putin traveled to Peking to sing an important trade agreement with China.  China has for some years been seen as a convenient ally for the Russian Federation, especially since Chinese and Russian national interests often coalesce against Western military intrusions.

As the Sergianist Patriarchate is a closely allied tool of the Russian Federation, it is only natural that it will be used to advance Russian national aims.
