Reported on April 30, 2014. PRAVMIR. The Holy Synod of the Church of Antioch, presided over by Patriarch John, announced on April 29 that it has officially suspended communion with the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

NOTE: It seems the one thing that can drive the World Orthodox patriarchates apart are issues that ultimately revolve around ‘territory’ and the implications to be found in monetary resources from such.  Jerusalem seemed perfectly happy to share communion with Antioch all the years Antioch continued it policy of open communion towards Syro-Jacobites and others (as well as it, and Alexandria’s policy of limited official concelebration with the Monophysties, as well as removal of anathemas). However, once the issue becomes about their ‘turf’, then it’s all over
