Dear Mr. Suaiden:
It has come to our attention that your comment on your posting about an “Archbishop Jovan” (July 4, 2008 copied below) who endorses IOCC to implement his group’s mission might lead some people to believe that he actually “runs” IOCC and OCMC. Even though I interpreted your comment as being sarcastic, I am afraid that people don’t always read these things very carefully and might conclude otherwise. Your assertion that IOCC and OCMC are ministries of SCOBA is accurate, but I would appreciate it if you would consider clarifying that in fact, although “Archbishop Jovan” might endorse us (even though we have never heard of him), he has no relationship administratively with IOCC or OCMC, which are constituted under SCOBA and whose Boards are comprised of clergy and lay from SCOBA jurisdictions.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter and please feel free to contact me directly with any questions.

Response: Dear Daniel, thank you for writing. We hope the fast is going well, and we had no intention to confuse anyone. This was a completely sarcastic comment on our part, and we hope this clears up any doubt that the person in question does not run IOCC, and that he gets the help he need. Our best wishes and prayers in the day-to-day operation of the difficult work of IOCC.
