Bishop Silvano of Luni establishes an Orthodox Mission in Togo.

According to the website of the Metropolis of Oropos and Phyle, a new mission has been founded in the African Republic of Togo, under the auspices of the Diocese of Luni.

His Eminence Bishop Silvano of Luni traveled from Italy to Togo for ten days, accompanied by Archdeacon Paul of the monastery of St. Seraphim of Sarov in Pistoia, Italy, who had spent considerable time making the preparations for the journey and the establishment of the mission.

The bishop met with various political officials, including the President and Prime Minister of the country, and laid the foundation stone of a church and clinic for the mission.
