Editorial Opinion: I commend the American Metropolia under His Beatitude John LoBue for issuing this clarifying statement. I pray that the Holy Spirit will enlighten the TOC-R through the work of its sister Church to turn back from this treacherous course.
I would leave this jurisdiction if they didn’t brake communion with this false russian synod of name worshippers. Otherwise, it’s the same as the cyprianites. But, that’s just me.
If Metropolitan Raphael realizes he was misled on the matter, I think it will be fine. The Russians are not yet in communion with the Luriyites, but if they agree in faith, we likely will break communion. One thing to remember is that the Luriyites call us “name-fighters” as a perjorative. They make stories that we write the Name of Jesus on paper and throw it away like iconoclasts destroyed icons.
Christians should absolutely respect and venerate the Name of Jesus Christ. But in fact I imagine once Luriye gave Metropolitan Raphael a good sales pitch, he was convinced that Moss and others hate Christ. So we have to clarify if he’s just been duped, or he is in fact a heretic.
Been down this arduous road before. Don’t fall for the “name-fighting” canard. Luriye treats Name-Worshipping like it’s no big deal, but it is, in fact, a heresy. Stand fast.
You don’t have to tell me– I’ve got experience with the man. I was talking about Metr. Raphael.
Lord have mercy!
