Ecumenical Patriarch Meets Greek Communist leader

On Oct. 22, 2012, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (Archontonis) met with prominent Greek atheist and communist leader, Alexis Tsipras.  During the meeting, ‘warm support of the work and efforts’ was expressed.  Mr. Tsipras is leader of SYRIZA, a Communist coalition party that has made impressive gains in the recent Greek parliamentary elections. Tsipras in the past has expressed his belief that the State Church of Greece should be taxed (which, interestingly, would put the organization on a somewhat more level footing with more discriminated religious groups in Greece).

This is certainly not the first (and probably won’t be the last) time that Mr. Tsipras has paid prominent and high level visits to the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In January of 2011 he did the same. In the previous meeting, Mr. Tsipras expressed his agreement and support of Bartholomew’s (Archontonis) various goals. Communist atheist Mr. Tsipras was also warmly received by State church leader Abp. Jerome in 2010 where Mr. Tsipras expressed his support.

The well-known pro-abortion Patriarch Bartholomew (Archontonis), has also a long history of focusing on matters that are generally considered to be contrary to Orthodox doctrine (like his well-known support of abortion rights, population control measures, and his obsession with supporting pseudo-environmental issues as superior to issues like the rights of children not to be butched in the womb).  But, as with all things with Bartholomew (Archontonis), he fears to say anything to upset the worldly leaders; he will speak on and on about ‘social justice’, but, never will he mention the social injustice in history: the abortion holocaust.

In a nation like Greece, which is pulled into either the direction of communism or fascism, and which has the highest abortion rate of the entire EU, and thus, a massive demographic decline, one would think the man who claims to be the ‘ethnarch’ of the ‘Hellenic nation’ would actually say or do something publicly to address this issue. No; it seems Bartholomew’s time is better spent traveling around the world, meeting with Papists and atheists and giving Muslims golden Qu-rans (which Qu-ran Bartholomew calls the “holy Qu’ran, the sacred book of our Muslim brothers and sisters”). And, if you criticize him, you are a ‘fundamentalist’.

But, as the Patriarch has no problem cavorting with Greek communist/atheist leaders as pals, then, what of his recent meeting with American US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, who is a fierce pro-abortion advocate. The company Bartholomew keeps, that of supporters of mass murder of children (and secondary mass murder of communism), should come as no surprise, sadly. Where is the social justice for the murder of the billions; which murder Bartholomew thinks nothing of, or, at least, if he thinks something of it, he says nothing of it, ever.
