Hats off to Gab!
We’d like to take a moment to thank @gab for existing for a number of reasons:
1) Free Speech, obviously
2) We are now using Gab to micropost to create complete articles
3) When we lack an image for an article, we can create one using @AI
4) Gab’s story inspired a 19-year old news website to up its game online. We are a news resource when it comes to True Orthodoxy and we have a lot of announcements coming soon!
Obviously, we here at NFTU are big on free speech. Despite concerted efforts on the part of World Orthodoxy to silence us and other, similar sites, NFTU has survived independently for over a decade, and it has been with the help of our readers and our own resources.
In an era where Big Tech is trying to send whole swaths of history itself down the memory hole, Gab is an example of the ideals of free speech and communication standing up to the machine at scale, and one that we greatly admire. Thanks to Gab’s @AI feature, our writers (the main author is @FrJosephSuaidan) no longer have to look for pictures while writing. (We still can and do, but we don’t have to, and have used this feature on a number of articles this year.
Finally, microposting as a method of article creation has been a thing for years, but we here at NFTU have never used it until today. This statement posted here is becoming part of a larger article right now! This will allow us to find important news stories in real-time and develop the story right here before it goes to the main site!
So hats off the Gab and its creator, @a, not just for creating the bulwark of free speech we know as Gab, but being an “idea man” behind the internet of the future. Many Years!
