Bp. Lazr (Bubanjko) of Niagara Appointed Exarch for Canada

(source: orthodoxmetropolia.com) Bishop Lazr (Bubanjko) of Niagara, was on August 22nd (OS) / September 4th (NS), was officially appointed the Exarch for Canada under Metropolitan John (LoBue) of New York and New Jersey. All clergy, monastics, monasteries, parishes, missions, and laity will be subject to Bp. Lazr’s authortiy as deputy for the Metropolitan, until such time in the near future that Bp. Lazr can be formally enthroned as Ruling Bishop for Canada.

Bishop Lazr was elevated to the episcopate as a vicar Bishop on October 19, 2019 (NS) as a vicar for Canada, and his elevation to exarch reflects his expanded and future role as Ruling Bishop of Canada.
