Editor–This is just another example of the Phanar, and especially Patriarch Bartholomew ignoring the murder of hundreds of millions of innocent children. He prefers to value trees over the unborn. One must also realize that ignoring this most important moral issue of the day, characterizes Bartholomew, who fears to upset his ‘liberal’ enviromentalist supporters. As then Metropolitan Bartholomew said in the San Francisco Chronicle article, “SF Shows Off Its Ecumenical Spirit,” July 20, 1990, ”We are not allowed to enter the bedrooms of the Christian couples,” he said. ”We cannot generalize. There are many reasons for a couple to go toward abortion.”
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s message for the Day of the Protection of the Environment
Beloved Children in Lord,
Our ever-memorable predecessor, the late Patriarch Demetrios, who possessed a deep awareness of the gravity of the environmental crisis, as well as of the responsibility of the Church to directly and effectively confront the crisis, issued the first official encyclical dealing with the protection of the natural environment more than two decades ago. Through this encyclical, the Mother Church officially established the date of September 1st, – the beginning of the ecclesiastical year – as a day of prayer for the protection of the environment, declaring it to the plenitude of the Church throughout the length and breadth of the world.
