European Metropolia: Diocesan Meeting in Bergamo

On 25-26 July 2013, at the Bergamo-Malpensa parish, the Metropolis of Italy held the second conference of this year under the Chairmanship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufrie (Pop), Archbishop of Bergamo. The theme of the conference was “The role of the sacraments in the True Orthodox Church” and was presented by Mitred Archpriest George Ionascu, vicar general of the Metropolis, as well as missionary priest. The conference was attended by all the priests of Viterbo and the region. There were amost a dozen clergy present from all parts of the diocese.

Metropolitan Onufrie thanked all the attending priests, gave them the episcopal blessing and  copies of the magazine entitled “Food for the Soul” (nr.7-9/2013.S). After this, he presented several awards issued by the office of the Metropolis. A Christian agape meal followed, commemorating one year since the founding of new Metropolis. Thanksgiving was offered and remembrance in prayer of His Beatitude, Metropolitan John, Primate of North and South America and the British Isles, for the issuance of the new Metropolitan Tomos granting recognition as the successor to the Metropolitan Church of Milan and Aquileia.
