Hieromonk Victor (Melehov) elevated to Bishop of Boston and America (RTOC)

(source: trueorthodox.eu) Hieromonk Victor (Melehov) was raised to the Episcopate for Boston and America earlier today in the Dmitrov church of RTOC in the Moscow Region. The hierarchs serving were Archbishop Benjamin of the Black Sea and Kuban, Bishop Germogen of Gomel and Bryansk, and Bishop Philaretos of Pallini and Western Europe, when Hieromonk Victor was ordained to the rank of Bishop.

Two days ago, Fr Victor was raised to the rank of Hieromonk and his Matushka Lucia was tonsured into monasticism as well.

Bishop Victor was formerly administrator for RTOC’s American parishes since 2018 as a Protopriest since Bishop Stefan (Sabelnik) of Trenton (+2018) joined with Archbishop Andronik (Kotlaroff) of the ROCOR-A to make a new Bishop for Australia for the fractured ROCA. Bishop Victor has historically been vociferous with his opinions, and has quietly overseen the growth of RTOC in America since then.
