Joint Statemet by World Orthodox and Roman Catholics on Meeting in Jerusalem

On May 15th, 2014, the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States (the organization that represents all the groups in the US in communion with the Phanar) and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, issued a joint statement celebrating the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the meeting of Paul VI and Athenagoras in Jerusalem in 1964, and the “lifting of the anathemas” in 1965.

The Assembly represents organizations such as the ROCOR (MP), the OCA, Antiochians, Serbian Patriarchal churches, and is headed by Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Archdiocese (the local representation of the Phanar in the US).  The Assembly represents a more ‘liberal’ interpretation than that given by Traditional (True) Orthodox Christians, who reject the body as apostate and its members as schismatics and heretics.

Christian Orthodox

The Genuine Orthodox Hierarchy are sleeping and too busy co-celebrating to notice anything. Perhaps they are afraid of persecution?
