(Interfax) – A Russian Orthodox priest, his wife and his young child were found dead with gunshot wounds in their apartment in Rostov-on-Don before dawn on Wednesday, a source in a local law enforcement agency said.

Detectives believe the likeliest scenario is that the priest shot his wife and child dead before committing suicide.

A hunting rifle that had belonged to the priest was found in the apartment after the incident, the source told Interfax.

The priest had served at a church in Rostov, the source said, citing police.
