(ortodossia-in-occidente) A new Romanian-language parish has been received into the Holy Synod of Milan in Viterbo, Italy (Lazio Region). On October 19 (New Style) Bishop Abundius of Como concelebrated with the two priests of the parish, and offered a mesage of hope and tolerance to the community, as well as conveying the blessings of the First-Hierarch.

The Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of Western Europe and the Americas, commonly referred to as the “Milan Synod”, was created in 1984 by Archbishop Auxentios of Athens and claims jurisdiction throughout Europe and the West. It is unique for its claim of pre-schism Western sees and is currently headed by Metropolitan Eulogius of Milan and Aquileia.
