The Council of Christian Churches (ACK) held in Berlin the central worship the date of creation. It focused on environmental issues and the fight against hunger.
In a large silver pitcher they poured the water: Christians from Finland, South America and Papua New Guinea had brought in clay jars and glass bottles, the liquid from her home, and let them flow together in Berlin’s Holy Cross Church.
The cool water was the focus of nationwide worship to the “day of creation”, which the Council of Christian Churches (ACK) held in Berlin – a year after this new religious holiday was at the suggestion of the Orthodox officially proclaimed at the Ecumenical Church Congress in Munich.
In Berlin, all church traditions were involved in the service: A exactly two singers, the Greek Orthodox Archpriest Constantin Miron and his Berlin colleague Emanuel Sfiatkos, existing “Byzantine Choir” was found also in the Holy Cross Church as the an intercession speaking bishop of SELK Hans-Jörg Voigt, and the Gospel reading Catholic Bishop of Speyer, Karl-Heinz Wiese man. All religions should be given at the end of the service a gift – a bottle of water in order to pour the apple tree they had received after the proclamation of the day of creation in Munich as a gift.
