Communist Leader Calls for Cordoba Cathedral to Become “Ecumenical”

(Source : LibertadDigital) The Spain Herald reports that Jose Manuel Mariscal, regional deputy for Cordoba, Spain, and a member of United Left, a Communist party in Spain has added his voice in support of a request by Spain’s Islamic Council that Cordoba Cathedral, formerly a mosque, be reopened to use for Muslim rites.

Mariscal has also brought a request to the Andalusian parliament permitting all religions to hold services there and hoped to “promoting understanding between religions, mixing, and cooperation.” (Full article here)
