MP Critic Granted Asylum in Estonia
Maxim Yefimov, a Russian blogger, who criticized the Moscow Patriarchate on his blog, saying, “Karelia is sick of priests”, and was subsequently almost put in a mental institution, has been granted political asylum in Estonia, after applying for some months, according to the Russian News Service. Yefimov had been prosecuted for inciting hatred or enmity, as well as the humiliation of a group of persons on the grounds of religion” (part 1 of Article 282 of the Russian Criminal Code).
The question comes to mind: At what point will the Moscow Patriarchate just stop persecuting, stealing, and threatening people who make the mildest of criticism, not to mention people who just want to exist in Russia apart from it?
