MP Patriarch Congratulates Election of Syrian Monophysite Head

On April 16, 2014, Patriarch Kyril, chief hierarch of the Moscow Patriarchate, congratulated the new head of the Syro-Jacobite Church.  In his greetings, Patriarch Kyril said to the new Syro-Jacobite Patriarch, Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, that   “Christ the Chief Shepherd “predestined you to accept “part of this ministry” “.

The full texts can be found at the Moscow Patriarchate Department of External Church Relations here.The Syro-Jacobite Church officially rejects several Orthodox Ecumenical Councils, and affirms the teachings of prominent and condemned theologians, such as Severus of Antioch.

Greetings were also sent by the head of the MP Department of External Church Relations, Met. Hilarion (Alfeyev).
