The St. Xenia Parish Brotherhood (Canata, Canada) held a Vigil Saturday, December 18 on the Eve of St. Nicholas, the Wonderworker of Myrna. After the the service, in which a Male Choir chanted the Vigil, the Brothers offered a Lenten dinner of their well-known menu of “Thai Mussels and Belgium Fries.”
With the encouragement of Metropolitan Agafangel, St. Xenia Cathedral will begin offering periodic services in English. Given that St. Herman of Alaska was the first North American Orthodox Saint, and if there is sufficient demand, Fr. Oleg Mironov will serve Matins and Divine Liturgy on his Saint’s Day in English on Saturday 25 December at 0900 am. Please encourage all who would appreciate and benefit from English services to attend. Father Gregory Kotlaroff of St. Sergius Church, assisted by Father Macarius Foster, conducted confessions at the Tolstoy Nursing Home in Valley Cottage, New York, Tuesday, December 14 and a Liturgy there Wednesday, December 15.
The planned ordination of John Granger as a deacon that we reported last week has been delayed.
