Antiochian Archdiocese Priest compares Speaker of the House to Adolf Hitler

(NFTU) In the spirit of the election year, an Antiochian priest has compared the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, to Adolf Hitler in graphic manner.

Father Benjamin Johnson of Ohio placed a picture of Pelosi waving to a crowd alongside a picture of Hitler doing a Nazi salute, in an attempt to explain the similarity between abortion and the Holocaust. This was apparently due to the Speaker’s typically liberal views on abortion and ignorance of the Patristic teaching on abortion.

It is somewhat surprising, however, that in a year where many Democrats have spoken firmly about their need for abortion that Pelosi was singled out for comparison to the Nazi leader, whose regime killed millions of Jews in the Holocaust. It is unclear why Father Johnson chose to evoke such imagery, since Pelosi’s first years as speaker have been relatively uneventful, save for the fact that Pelosi is a the first female Speaker of the House.

Pelosi’s own church (Pelosi is a nominal Roman Catholic) called her ideas “inaccurate”, but never went as far as Father Benjamin, who seems to have completely forgotten the fact that Barack Obama’s new pick for the Vice-Presidential nomination, Joseph Biden, is also a pro-abortion Roman Catholic, who has never shrunk from saying so, and last year was blasted on Catholic sites for saying that his views were “totally consistent with Catholic social doctrine….There are elements within the church who say that if you are at odds with any of the teachings of the church, you are at odds with the church. I think the church is bigger than that.”
