In Tuva region there was established the Buddhist-Orthodox Council, designed to strengthen inter-religious relations, and to support and coordinate the activities of religious organizations. This was according to information reported by the regional government.
Christianity and Buddhism are the major religions in the country. “For the creation of Buddhist-Orthodox Inter-religious Council of the Republic of Kyzylskaya representatives of the Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Buddhist Association of Tuva voted unanimously,” – the statement said, the text of which can be found at RIA “Novosti” .
